Accessibility statement

How Tournix makes public live tournament pages accessible.

Last updated: 4 June 2026

Tournix is committed to making tournament information reachable for as many people as possible. This page explains our accessibility efforts, the scope of our WCAG conformance claim, known limitations and how to report problems.

WCAG conformance claim

Tournix states that the platform-provided public live tournament experience conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

This is a self-assessment based on internal review and implementation of accessibility requirements. The claim is limited to the scope described below.

  • Date of claim: 4 June 2026
  • Guidelines: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1
  • Conformance level: AA
  • Scope: Public live tournament pages served by Tournix at https://www.tournix.app/live/{slug} (schedule, standings, info, registration, referees and related views), including the referee entry route at https://www.tournix.app/live/{slug}/ref/{token}. Organizer dashboards, account login, billing and the marketing homepage are outside this claim.
  • Technologies relied upon: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript (React / Next.js), WAI-ARIA, next-intl for localisation

What we have done

The live tournament pages are the public face of Tournix for players, supporters and referees. We designed and tested them with accessibility in mind:

  • Keyboard navigation: skip link to main content, proper tab order, arrow-key navigation between sections
  • Screen readers: semantic headings, labelled form fields, ARIA tabs, live regions for schedule updates and save feedback
  • Focus visibility: visible focus rings on interactive elements
  • Forms: registration and referee score entry use explicit labels; errors are announced
  • Tables: standings tables include captions and column headers with scope
  • Language: interface available in English and Dutch; language switcher is accessible
  • No nested interactive controls: team and referee cards use separate buttons for actions such as starring
  • External links: downloads and privacy links indicate when they open in a new tab

Known limitations

Some parts of a live page depend on content entered by the tournament organizer. Those areas may affect conformance for a specific tournament:

  • Custom theme colours chosen by the organizer (low-contrast pairs are flagged in the editor; suggested colours are applied on the live site unless the organizer keeps their own choice)
  • Rich-text descriptions, sponsor images and downloadable attachments added by the organizer
  • Third-party file downloads hosted outside our platform
  • Team logos loaded from external URLs supplied by organizers or participants

Outside the scope of this claim

The following parts of Tournix have not been evaluated for WCAG 2.1 AA conformance under this claim:

  • Organizer dashboard (tournament setup, scheduling, results entry)
  • Account registration and login
  • Marketing homepage and pricing pages
  • Stripe checkout and billing portal
